Sustainability

What makes TEAM 7 sustainable? Beyond using responsibly harvested hardwood finished only with non-toxic herbal oils and waxes, our products genuinely try to make things better for people and the environment.

TEAM 7 is third-party certified as an environmentally responsible manufacturer with the Austrian Ecological Quality Certification and with the German Eco Certification from the Environmental Institute, Cologne.

The criteria for these eco certificates include the whole life cycle of the furniture and its impact on the environment from the raw materials to the manufacturing process as well as the recycling of the furniture at the end of its life.

Materials

Renewable, recycled or recyclable, non-toxic, low VOC materials are used for our furniture and in the production process. TEAM 7 does not use any PVC plastic and materials that contain added urea formaldehyde. TEAM 7 uses only non-toxic, water-based glue.

Our hardwood comes from sustainable managed, reforested European forest in compliance with the International Protection of Species Act. Neither endangered woods nor tropical woods from rainforests are used. Read more ...

Social Responsibility

TEAM 7 maintains a fair and responsible work environment, free of the traditionally used toxic chemicals that harm people’s health.

Waste Management

The furniture design considers the amount of material used and strives to minimize material waste. TEAM 7 has a policy regarding waste management. Manufacturing minimizes its use of water, energy or waste produced as a result of the process. Recycling and using recycled materials wherever possible has been a standard operating procedure at TEAM 7 for many years. The corrugated cardboard TEAM 7 uses for packaging is made of 100 % recycled paper.

Energy

At our manufacturing plant and at the Alfa board plant over 80 % of the electricity TEAM 7 uses come from renewable energy sources. The wood waste from the manufacturing process is used for heating the plant in winter. Read more...
